Rex Walker Oatmeal Cookies

I ‘always’ name my given recipes by the name of the person that gave me the recipe. This recipe ‘probably’ should be called MRS Rex Walker oatmeal cookies because I really doubt if Rex made them…

A hundred thousand years ago, well at least it seems that way, I had a job at the Better Business Bureau. Rex Walker was a membership salesman. I didn’t keep up with him after I left the BBB, but I kept this recipe! This is THE oatmeal cookie recipe that I use whenever I want a ‘no fail’ cookie.

Rex Walker Oatmeal Cookies

1 c flour
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
1/2 c butter
1 egg
1/4 t vanilla
3/4 oats.

In a mixing bow, stir together the dry ingredients. Add the room softened butter, egg and vanilla. Beat well. Stir in the oats.

Form into balls and dip into sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 10-12 minutes at 375.

Makes 3 1/2 dozen ’small’ cookies.
