You never know what you might find at a thrift store.
I walked into my favorite one the other day, and right there in the front of the store was a ping pong table.
Hmmm.
I looked that thing over. It was in fine shape and marked a mere $25, a bargain.
The first thing you have to consider is ‘where’ would I put it. The second? How would you get it home?
I passed on it – no way could I strap it to the top of my car and make it 25 miles home without it blowing off the roof. Who has a truck when you need one?
I thought it would make a GREAT cutting table (sewing).
The next best thing would be to peruse ping pong tables online and have it delivered STRAIGHT to your house. Much easier don’t you think?

Moving?
Don’t have a pickup?
What do you do?
These days, there don’t seem to be as many friends with pickups, or we just don’t want to take advantage of our friends good will.
You know rental trucks can end up costing good money - one way for any distance can add up to huge costs.

What’s the solution?
Using one of the U-Pack places. You pack it up, and they drive it to the new place.
Simple!

Save money every way you can.
Lots of people are dropping their home phone service and just relying on their cell phones.
Those folks with home security systems can’t do that, BUT, I’d venture a guess that they still have a cell phone.
Save money on your residential phone service by dropping all the extra ‘fluff’ that’s on their. If you primarily use your cell, well you don’t ‘need’ long distance on your home phone.
Got any other extras on there? Downgrade. You’ll save moula.

I had purchased one of those big honkin’ packages of celery at Sams and used a piece or two in some dish I made. I got Chili-man to eat a piece or two (I don’t like raw celery.) and the rest us was slowing getting sad in the fridge.
VOWING not to be wasteful, I dug my Excaliber dehydrator out of the cabinet and set it up.
I chopped celery for what seemed like forever. There were THREE bunches… ….
Set it up in the dehydrator and let set it to going.
At the end of the day - those three big bunches of celery were reduced to about a half of cup….
WOW - space saving. Food saving. I should really use the dehydrator much more often…

How do you store water?
Maybe you don’t.
Maybe you should.
There are lots of what if’s out there. Could even be as simple as the well pump going out. Sure a well pump can be replaced but it’s not a quick job I can tell you that!
One time, the well pump went out and we had to pull it. Now this means HOURS at the very least without water, at the very least. My brother and nephew were over to help. At the time we had a couple of pygmy goats. I told my nephew NOT to pet the goats.
It wasn’t because the goats were mean, or because I was mean, it’s because male goats stink. When I say stink, I mean STINK! PEE UUUU
So what does a little boy do when do one is looking?
Pet the goats….
He was happy with himself for a while until he realized that his hands stunk bad. ***BAD***
Lucky for him I store water.
You can store non-potable water in old liquid laundry detergent bottles. That ever so slightly water makes good hand washin’ water.
You can store potable (drinkable) water in used 2/3 liter soda bottles.
A good treatment to keep the ‘bad stuff’ out of stored water is to 14 drops of plain bleach per gallon of water when adding to your home storage.
Stored water - it’s a good thing.

No, not the Stephen King classic, tools you might need around the place someday.
Firestarters
Some folks save up their dryer lint, egg cartons and old candles. They stuff the dryer lint into the egg depressions and pour melted candle wax over them. They use them when camping, or to start the fireplace. They work!
Another way to have a firestarter that works in any weather is to take regular old wooden matches, dental floss and wax. Wrap dental floss around 10 or so of the matches and dip the bundle into melted wax. You end up with a giant match.
They work great - hard to blow out, guaranteed to light. Perfect for a ‘bob’

I’ve talk about my nearly life long addition to Oil of Olay and I attribute the liberal use of daily moisturizer a boon to my good skin, at my age.
Then we start in on the night creams and heavier products and before you know it, even the women with the best skin might need to consider an anti-wrinkle product.
What are the best anti wrinkle creams?
I think they’re the ones that use more natural ingredients and moisture retaining properties. The best of the best? The ones that work for you!
Everyone has different skin. Start with a low to medium priced product as there is no sense paying a fortune if a lower priced product gives you results!

Many years ago I recall reading a book by a married couple about increasing your health. I don’t remember very much about the book other than it was one of the first books I read about natural health. The back cover had pictures of them all muscled up.
I read and studied that book. It began my interest in herbs and herbal products, but I digress. They were big on vitamins and natural foods and big proponents of proper amino acid ratios in supplements.
It was a starter book for me, and I don’t remember the name, but I do remember them touting the fact that they wanted you to buy human growth hormone from them, along with other vitamins and supplements. That part distressed me. How can you write a book that really is just touting your own goods?
Everyone should do their own research before deciding upon any new supplement. The internet is a vast source of information. It’s there for us to learn from. Use it – and do your body good.

It’s almost spring, I promise, it’s almost here! It’s time to clean out the house, OUT WITH THE OLD and in with the new. If you haven’t used it in years, and it’s not beautiful useful or loved, it needs to go.
That’s one reason we have a garage sale EVERY SINGLE YEAR!
It’s almost time to get ready for the yard sale! That means BIG spring cleaning.
Spring is also a good time to do an internal cleanse. Have you ever done one? Me either, but I’ve heard lots of people praising them. I haven’t become brave enough yet.
There are tons of different ones, you see them at the grocery store even. I’ve even heard of some folks doing it themselves with some kind of concoction of olive oil and lemon juice. Sounds yucky.
If you’ve ever considered doing a cleanse I’d really suggest you do your homework. Check out colon cleansing reviews first, then schedule it for when you’ll be near your own personal bathroom! LOL
