A couple of years ago, well four actually, daughter took her tax refund and took her kids on a vacation. Like many of us, they’d never been anywhere on vacation and decided to just go all out, at least once.
She did her homework, she contacted friends, she looked around, she shopped around and found Disney vacation packages that saved her some big bucks. She rented a van, and headed east.
She stayed with friends, saving money on motel/hotel. She packed a couple of ice chests and carried their own drinks, fixings for sandwiches and snacks. She used coupons for some meals out. Everything thing she did was either free, low cost, or bought at a discount.
She and her kids had the time of their lives in a trip that they’ll always remember. I’m proud of the way that she too is frugal.
