I have a Nikon D40. It takes all the food photographs you see on my site. AND all my other sites too! Product shots… Senior pictures…
I love my Nikon D40.
I bought it a couple of years ago as a present to myself. I had wanted a Nikon for time eternal. I started out ‘ahem’ years ago with an affordable 35mm camera, a knock off brand of another major manufacturer. I took a part time job at Long John Silvers to pay for that camera. I used it for years and years and years. Then when it finally bit the dust, my reward was a small pocket size digital, again NOT a Nikon. I had Nikon envy. I would see people with Nikons around their neck and sigh. My goal was to have my own, my very own, NIKON!
My Nikon D40 does a wonderful job. Clear concise images. Great color, easy to use and carry.
I have noticed however that my photographs all have a little spot in the upper right hand corner. Probably a dirty sensor? Anyhow, my friend Christy has the next model up, a Nikon D90 and you know what? She has the exact same spot! Surely that’s not a coincidence!
Lately I’ve been eyeballing the Nikon 3000. Because they have the 3000 at Sams – thank goodness they don’t have any of the higher end models or I’d just swoon over the display for hours and they’d never get me out of there! One of the 3000’s features is an automatic sensor cleanser. After playing with it in the store, it just seems SO much faster than my D40. Is that possible?
I really want the Nikon 3000, but, will I have the exact same problem with the spot that both Christy and I do with two different models of a Nikon?
Geez. I don’t know what to do… They aren’t cheap…
Nikon, if you’re listening. I’d be glad to try out the 3000 right next to my D40!
