Three Weeks In

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

I’m three weeks into my New Years resolution to do something about my weight….

I exchanged my afternoon SONIC Dr Pepper for medium sweet tea. OK, I hear you, sweet tea is still loaded with calories! I know! I’m trying to substitute! AND I quit stopping on my way home for another Dr Pepper.

Guess how much I’ve dropped.

You got that right, NADA!

LOL, OK, so maybe I need to exchange the sweet tea for water. BUT I need some energy that the Dr Pepper was giving me! That afternoon blah hits me and I swear I need something. Tried B-12. Tried cheese. Tried peanuts… … I just want to know What diet pills work the best? I don’t want to have to succumb to that, and I don’t do aspartame or sucralose so don’t go there!

Maybe I could exchange the LARGE fountain SONIC Dr Pepper for one in a can? That’d save a couple hundred calories… … …

Cherry Dr Pepper

Monday, July 5th, 2010

It’s about that time I year when I get all fed up and decide to go on a diet. I know, I know. Diets are NOT the best thing in the world, as there’s always that little rebound you get at the end.

I’ve tried lots, and I think that I’ve had my best luck with a modified low carb diet. For me, that just seems to work the best. It seems to me like the initial phase, if you don’t go so low as to get the shakes, is the best fat burner there is. It’s like your body shifts into burn mode and you can quickly zip up those jeans.

Me? While I do have a pair of older jeans in the back of the dresser that I’d love to get back into someday, in reality, I’d just like to wear shorts, in public, every now and then.

It’s just too hot to always be in dress slacks (and hose) during the week and jeans on the weekend… … …

Now, if I could just drive past Sonic without stopping for a cherry Dr Pepper… ….

Limeades for Learning

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

During the rest of this month your drink purchases at Sonic come with a peeler on the cup. These peelers are for LIMEADES FOR LEARNING.

You won’t save any money buying your drink, well unless you get it during happy hour, but you’ll get a good feeling when you use your cups code on the LimeadesforLearning.com website.

Limeades for Learning is gifting items to school teachers across the US. Just log on and vote for your favorite. I’ve been giving mine to an Oklahoma classroom trying to obtain a laser printer. (I use the search button and type in Oklahoma printer.)

It’s a feel good thing…
